$20m Nausori Plaza

Work on the shopping mall in Nausori Town is in its final phase.

Tui Nausori Ratu Lepani Tagicakibau says the multi-million dollar project once completed will help generate more income activities for the three provinces in Nausori.

The four-story building is an investment between Chinese Investor Zhong Fhei and a mataqali in Nausori village.

The project costs $20million.

Amra’s $25m Investment in Nausori

Amras Hire Plant Limited’s $25 million investment is slated to commence construction by year-end, and according to Prasad, it marks a significant addition to the constantly evolving Nausori municipality.

Amra’s Hire Plant Ltd. Managing Director Mahendar Singh says the new mall is the manifestation of the vision by him and his three brothers from the company’s humble beginning in 1992.

Amra’s Mall Project Manager Ganesh Narayan says the new two-storey mall, which will be situated next to Amra’s Yard along Lakena Road, will feature a 278-capacity car park, a service station, retail and office spaces, a food court, and an events center.

He adds that the ground-breaking ceremony for the new mall is earmarked for November, and construction is expected to be completed by mid-2025, creating employment for 300 Fijians.

Public-Private Partnership – Launching of Old Market Site

The Hon. Minister for Housing and Local Government was delighted to be part of the Public-Private Partnership to seal collaboration between Nausori Town Council and Market Development (Nausori) Pte Limited, a subsidiary of Shop and Save Supermarket. The Partnership is to develop the old market sites in Nausori Town.

The Ministry of Local Government and Nausori Town Council strongly believes that the partnership will revitalize the Nausori Central Business District landscape, infrastructure, economy and community by:

1. Attracting private investments and creating jobs opportunities within Nausori Municipality.

2. Developing modern and sustainable infrastructure that aligns with the evolving needs of wider Nausori community.

3. Ensuring that the development positively impacts the quality of life for our residents through carefully planned amenities.

“We are excited about this public-private partnership and the potential it holds for the Nausori Municipality and Fiji as a whole. By working together with private investors, we aim to create vibrant, profitable and sustainable developments, which will not only enhance the landscape and economy but will also improve the living standards of our residents and community members”, said Hon. Maciu Katamotu Nalumisa.”

“Nausori Town Council is thankful to the Executive Directors of the Market Development (Nausori) Pte Limited and Shop N Save Supermarkets for empathizing and reconsidering the Council proposed terms and conditions of sublease agreements not just for council benefit but for local community and overall economy’s benefit.” mentioned by the Chair of Special Administrators, Mr. Umakant Patel.

The Executive Director of The Market Development (Nausori) Pte Limited and Shop N Save Supermarket, Mr. Nisheel Deo Kisun shared their intentions to construct the 5-story RATSUN City Nausori Complex with a total investment of $55 million. The complex will consist of a supermarket, bakery, restaurants, a food court, retail shops and office space. RATSUN City Nausori will also consist of a 55 room RATSUN Apartment Hotel that will overall be complimented by a 136-space carpark. Shop N Save Supermarket and the Market Development (Nausori) PTE Limited is excited to begin its journey as a proud member of the Nausori Business Community and looks forward to contributing to Nausori’s economic growth.

Nausori Municipality is thriving in terms of new developments. Currently, there are 22 multi-million-dollar developments happening in Nakasi/Naulu, Davuilevu and near Nausori Central Business District area which is either in planning or construction stage. Most of these investors are local businesses and this is clear indication of strong investor confidence in the Fiji economy which will accelerate our economic growth.

Hon. Minister for Housing and Local Government urged the Municipal Councils to enter into more Public-Private Partnerships for capital infrastructure in the respective municipalities instead of solely relying on government grants. There is a need for more capital developments and beautification of our cities and towns.
