The Council has adopted certain guiding principles to place the Council’s agenda on a firm moral ground.
The Council’s core values are as follows:
- Leadership – To demonstrate knowledge, ability and to set a sound example for others in terms of their conduct.
- Integrity – To show honesty in behaviour.
- Transparent – To be seen as fair in one’s dealing with others without question as to the appropriateness of one’s behaviour.
- Ownership – To embrace with commitment any new changes that may be brought upon any staff member.
- Customer Driven – To uphold the supremacy of the customer’s position.
- Responsible – To be accountable for one’s action in the conduct of one’s duties.
- Timeliness – To learn to deliver things on time so that progress is achieved.
- Politeness – The custom of humility and respect must always be upheld.
- Excellence– In service delivery is our priority.
The new Code of Conduct for Staff of the Council adequately reflects the values stated above.
